TRIP OVERVIEW:

Fly fish the Alaskan wilderness near Juneau for native salmon, steelhead, trout, dolly varden, & more.

Your guide will pick you up and take you to a remote river on a jet boat where they will give fishing instruction according to your skill level. Whether you are a die hard fisherman or want to try something new, we have you covered!

Target species are dependent on the season. If you have a specific fish you want to target, we can book you accordingly. Charters are available in half day or full day trips. Half day trips are 4-5 hours, boat launch to boat takeout. Full day trips are 7-9 hours from launch to takeout. Overall charter length varies depending on pickup and fishing location, and can be modified to fit your time window.

Cutthroat & Rainbow Trout (May-September):

These trout species are accessible to fly anglers from May to September. This extended season provides ample time to target these freshwater gamefish in the rivers and streams surrounding Juneau.

Dolly Varden (May-September):

Dolly Varden, a char species, is available for fly fishing from May to September. Anglers can pursue these fish in rivers and estuaries, particularly during their spawning periods.

Steelhead (May):

Steelhead, a sea-run rainbow trout, are present in May. While their season is relatively short, fly anglers have the chance to target these powerful and elusive fish during this time.

Pink Salmon (July-September):

TRIP REQUIREMENTS:

For the safety and success of each adventure, all participants must be able to…

    • Enter and exit the vessel without assistance.
    • Wear a properly fitted coast guard approved personal floatation device (maximum chest size 52 inches).
    • Follow verbal and visual commands.
    • Remain seated and balanced while the vessel is underway.
    • Travel over uneven ground for distances of up to 1 mile.

Non-residents over the age of 16 will need a signed fishing license for the date of the excursion.

Licenses can be purchased online at https://store.adfg.alaska.gov/ (you do not need to purchase a king salmon stamp with your license).

WHAT TO BRING:

    • Warm layers to wear under waders and rain jackets.

    • Sunglasses and a hat is recommended.
    • Non-glass beverages and snacks.

NOTEWORTHY:

    • If you contact us during our May-September guiding season, it is likely that we are out with other clients during the day. If we miss your call or you send an email, we will reach back out to you as soon as possible – usually the same day or within 24 hours.
    • A 5% city sales tax and gratuities are not included in the listed rates.
    • All fishing is catch & release to conserve the fish runs. We will not keep or process any fish.
    • All excursions are PRIVATE. You will never be combined with anyone outside your group.
    • DISCOUNTS: We offer a 10% discount for all law enforcement and military personnel. We also offer a 15% discount for Juneau locals!
    • The boat is an open skiff. This means that your waders and rain coat are the only thing between you and the elements. It is highly recommended that you dress in layers underneath the waterproof gear. It’s always better to have too many layers than not enough. A dry bag is provided for each participant to put extra layers in as needed.
    • Gratuities are greatly appreciated by your guide; 10-20% of the total trip cost is most common.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

    • Trips canceled more than 30 days in advance will be fully refunded minus a $50 cancellation fee.
    • Trips canceled 7-29 days in advance will be refunded 50% of the total trip cost.
    • Trips canceled within 7 days or no shows are required to pay in full.
    • If the business has to cancel the trip for any reason such as weather, mechanical issue, etc. then customers will be fully refunded.
